    The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)

    Each face covered with grooves, in the main alternately wide and narrow, concentrically arranged in a nine-pointed star form; the five innermost grooves, of which the three next the seppadai are all narrow (as are also the three next the edge), are inlaid with brass.

    Rough signature: Ki or Moku [Japanese text].

    Kozuka hole only, lead-plugged.
