    The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)

    Slightly cupped; built up, like a helmet, of 32 gores, the uppermost doubly flanged, the lowermost plain, the rest singly flanged; these are fastened together by three concentric rows of rivets (concealed, as they should be, on the front); seppadai reinforced by two oval plates.
