The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A wide band, with remains of a further band along either side, filled with linked diamond shapes, each one containing a further diamond in the centre. The diamonds are broken up by small chevrons and linked arrows. The fragmentary bands on either side have hook motifs.

The arrow and hook patterning is created by extending the span of the darning stitches on the reverse, so the pattern appears light against a brown ground.
