    The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

    A narrow band of a blue inscription, apparently crossing over or interlacing in the middle. The inscription runs between two parallel brown embroidered lines.

    The embroidery is diagonal to the weave; the fragment is similar to EA1984.45, although the ground fabric is considerably finer. As in EA1984.45, the double chain stitch is unusual for Egyptian embroidery.
