    The Barlow Collection

The box has rounded sides, a very low footring, and the cover has a shallow domed top. The top is moulded with a peony spray in relief, with a large bloom surrounded by leaves, the petals and leaves with finely rendered veins. The sides are vertically ribbed, leaving a band at the rims plain. The translucent light blue-tinged glaze ends above the base, the insides of both parts have only a patch of glaze. The off-white body has turned yellowish at the edges of the glaze.
