This calligraphy tells a story about the response of Wang Xianzhi 王獻之 (AD 344-386) to his fame. It appears opposite a painting of the famous calligrapher [EA2000.156.f], depicted trimming his brush in front of a scholar’s desk, preparing to perform calligraphy. Next to him is an antique bronze vessel.
