Tang Yun from Zhejiang province is a largely self-taught painter whose style is based on the 17th and 18th century painters Shi Tao (1630-1724) and Hua Yan (1682-c.1756). In this traditional landscape the grandeur of the view is preserved in spite of the small size of the painting.
