The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A cap with quilted interlace design and a continuous vine along the band, and the crown quilted with cross-hatching. The design is defined by narrow blue silk piping sewn down with a flax thread.

The cap has a linen lining. The original accession card mentions that the cap had a label saying 'Coptic cemetary Diud Hamman, near Illahun, Fayoum. 1890.'
