Hiroshige's Japan: Fifty-Three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road
(from 9th Dec 2014 until 16th Feb 2015)Explore works by one of the great masters of the Japanese landscape print, Utagawa Hiroshige.
Each print in this series of small format views of the 53 stations of the Tōkaidō is inscribed with a comic poem (kyōka). For this reason, the series is known as the ‘Kyōka Tōkaidō’.
