Yousef Jameel Online Collections Centre

Introduction

The Yousef Jameel Online Collections Centre gives visitors access to the Ashmolean’s online collections and other related websites. The Centre allows you to look again at many of the objects and works of art on display in the Museum, and to explore the reserve collections.

Mr Yousef Jameel Hon LHD is a dedicated supporter of the arts and a number of educational initiatives. His generosity to the Ashmolean includes his support for the Online Collections Centre, and for the digitisation of the Ashmolean’s collections of Islamic and Asian art, creating the website Eastern Art Online. He is currently funding the development of Islamic Art Online, a hub for Islamic collections across the world.

Mr Jameel has also established the Jameel Centre for the Study of Eastern Art, where visitors can see the Ashmolean’s reserve collections of Islamic and Asian art. The Centre is located on the first floor of the Museum. Please ask at the Information Desk for more details.
