The warrior fell asleep while sharing a picnic with a princess on Mount Togakushi. On waking, the princess had transformed into a witch, and Koremochi quickly dispatched her with a sword given to him by the god Hachiman.

netsuke
The netsuke is a form of toggle that was used to secure personal items suspended on cords from the kimono sash. These items included purses, medicine cases or tobacco paraphernalia.
