    The Barlow Collection

The vase is of baluster shape, with rounded shoulder and tall flaring neck. It has a shallow shoulder collar, and tapers towards a splayed foot with extremely thick footring and recessed domed base. The shoulder is decorated in slip relief with the Flowers of the Four Seasons, showing peony, lotus, chrysanthemum and camellia blooms on an undulating stem, and upright lotus petals below, drawn in outline with a central raised rib; the neck is plain. The somewhat opaque light green glaze does not cover the footring where the purplish-brown biscuit is visible.
