    The Barlow Collection

The pear-shaped vase tapers to a very slender, waisted neck with flared rim, flanked by two tubular lugs, and rests on a thick, slightly splayed foot. The body is carved in shallow relief with a continuous peony scroll with a large bloom on each side, framed by a curling stem of leaves, with two further leafy stems curling in the opposite direction under each handle. The light yellowish-green glaze covers the whole piece except for the footring, which shows a coarse buff-coloured biscuit.
