    The Barlow Collection

The piece is very lightly potted, with a wide pear-shaped body, tall slender neck with an angled, everted rim, and a tall foot with ogee-shaped profile. The horizontal looting lines are clearly visible, the design is impressed and shows patterns of diamond diaper above the widest part and of halved florets below, enclosed between fluted bands at the shoulder and top of the foot. The thin, insubstantial body is of cream-coloured stoneware, the glaze has a greenish tinge, especially in the recesses of the design. Most of the neck inside and the lowest part and underside of the foot were left unglazed.
