    The Barlow Collection

The wide conical bowl has a very small flat centre inside and an unevenly shaped foot, with a groove around the lowest part of the sides and a low-cut footring. The piece is covered with a glossy dark brown glaze which on the inside has uneven reddish-brown suffusions and is decorated with a flowering branch, painted in simple strokes and dots under a crescent moon which is supported on a cloud. The painted design has turned partly dark brown, partly a café-au-lait colour. The glaze on the outside is suffused with a reddish brown. The base and area around the foot are left in the light buff-coloured biscuit.
