    The Barlow Collection

The bowl has conical sides with a flared rim and an unevenly cut, tapering foot. The ouside is deeply incised with four vertical grooves, which have left faint raised lines on the inside. The light grey body bears a yellowish-green glaze, which leaves foot and base free, and seems to be applied over a white slip on the inside and upper half of the outside, where it has obtained a more bluish tint, than further down. The biscuit and glaze have discoloured through burial in red earth.
