The rounded bowls are sturdily potted, with a thick, straight-cut foot. The insides are moulded in relief with a pair of wild geese in flight between four cloud motifs, and the characters fu (‘happiness’) and lu (‘prosperity’) on opposite sides, with a classic scroll border surrounding the scene. The outsides are decorated with a comb-like instrument with five large petal panels above the foot and a scroll border at the rim. The white glaze is smooth and somewhat milky, the base, inside and underside of the footring are left in the biscuit which is stained a pale orange tone. Both bowls have grit adhering on the outside of the foot.
