    Catalogue of Islamic Seals and Talismans

    Cornelian; bezel, bevelled towards the front; oval; back angle very slightly cut. Five lines separated by straight lines formed by elongation of a ligature or of the return of a final loop. Cursive script; engraved.

    (1) There is no god but God, Muḥammad لا اله الا الله محمد
    (2) is the Prophet of God. There is no power or strength رسول الله لا حول ولا قوة
    (3) but from God. I committed my affair to God. الا بالله فوضت امرى الى الله
    (4) I rested my back on God. اسندت ظهرى الى الله
    (5) 'My sufficiency is God' (Qur. IX, 130/129 and XXXIX, 39/38) حسبي الله

    There are some small isolated flower heads, consisting of groups of dots, spread over the ground.
