    Catalogue of Islamic Seals and Talismans

    Cornelian; bezel (front face is slightly rounded), bevelled towards the front; oval; back angle is cut. Two horizontal registers separated by a straight line formed by the elongation of a ligature in the expression bi-smi. Cursive script; engraved.

    (1) 'In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. Say: "He is God, One, God بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم قل هو الله احد الله
    (2) the Everlasting Refuge, who has not begotten, and had not been begotten, and equal to Him is not any one." ' (Qur. CXII) الصمد لم يلد ولم يولد ولم يكن له كفوا احد

    Two lines follow the shape of the gem. On the two lateral sides, they are doubled internally by a trilobed line.
