The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)
Six-sided, the back flat, the front convex; each angle occupied by a palmette champlevé-enamelled dark blue on the front; at the back it is the intervals between the palmettes that are enamelled, with rough dark green enamel; the rest is various moulded ornament of European character; rh. plugged with parcel-gilt white metal. Signed in cursive: Takahashi [Japanese text] Okitsugu [Japanese text] with kakihan [Figure]. (Famous as a guri master, Group LXVIII.)
