The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)
Rounded lozenge shape; low-relief modelling, iroye incrustation and powdered gold nunome work; on front a pine-tree overhanging a lake or river, with two cranes; at the back, waves below and distant hills above, the latter with a small temple-building; narrow raised border with gold powdering, its outer part plain and imitating a rim with irregular edge.
