The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)
In the form of four overlappng clam-shells, as used in the Shell Game with painted designs in their hollows; here the designs (landscape, pine-branch, and cuckoo with bamboo-grass, on the front, and aster with grasses on the back) are done in gold wire nunome.
