    The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)

    Engraved on the front with an ascending and descending dragon and pearl amid cloud-forms, on the back with four compartments each containing one of the Eight Precious Objects (sword, lute, horn, and scroll); ground of small punched circles, with borderes of larger ones; leaf border round the whole design; kodzuka-hole perhaps original, small kōgai-hole cut later. Hirado work.
