The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)
In negative silhouette below is a cherry-blossom badge and above part of a large chariot-wheel in strong perspective; on the front is also a triple tsuta badge encrusted in brass.
The three tsuta (groups of cissus leaves) were originally enclosed by a narrow brass ring and thus represent the badge of the Matsudaira of Obata.
