The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)
Rounded oblong; brilliantly polished surface, almost entirely covered (including the edge) with a kikkō daiper (see no. 73) [EAX.10073] in faint relief; on this are six maple leaves, their tips touched with gold nunome; large udenuki holes; tiny kozuka-hole.
Signed Yasuiye [Japanese text], with kakihan [Japanese text].
Japan Society's Loan Exhibition, London,1905, no.Q.39. Yasuiye, written as above, was one of the names of Nobuiye I, but the guard is obviously late.
