The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

Bands of geometric design with borders of stylized floral motifs at the shoulder, one side and around V-shaped neck opening; heart-shaped medallion at point of V surrounded by spirals and crosses.

The fragment is part of a dress, with the neck opening and the shoulder still intact. The ground linen fabric has been overlaid with black silk, most of which is deteriorated.
