Chinese Prints 1950-2006 in the Ashmolean Museum

We (as Chinese artists) cannot keep away from the Chinese visual perception and from the time in which we are living.

An Bin first studied printmaking at the China National Academy of Fine Arts in Hangzhou in 1980, and has been teaching there since his graduation in 1984. He is currently head of the Academy’s foundation course. Influenced by Zhao Yannian (q.v. See cat no. 27 [EA2007.88]), he is also studying part time for a DPhil degree in printmaking at the University of Ulster, Belfast. An Bin specializes in black and white woodcut illustrations, as well as screen printing.
