The design is very unclear, as the fragment is badly stained. There seem to be medallions with floral and interlace elaborations, as well as some small cartouches. The designs are outlined in dark brown and partly filled with red. Much of the background seems to be blue.

The condition of the fragment makes it difficult to come to conclusions about the dye application. However, the dark brown, very fine outlines of the pattern are more prominent on the surface than on the reverse.
