The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

Three wide bands of stars and hexagons embroidered in blue double running stitch, mostly worked in steps. These shapes are set into a background of drawn-thread work, the star into a square, the hexagon into a cartouche. All the needle weaving has disappeared.

The width of the bands is 7 cm for the two outer ones, and 6.5 cm for the central band.
