The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

Three rectangles, two of which are pink, the third is brown. The brown band is placed between the two pink ones. The pink rectangles have a wide band in the centre which has large and small linked diamonds, the small ones each with a swastika; a small bird is placed in the space between the diamonds. This wide band has borders of knotted interlace followed by a zigzag edge. The brown rectangle has a wide central band with small, linked hook motifs; the borders have the same design as those of the pink rectangles.

The rectangles have been sewn together into a single band, with a rolled and whipped hem along both sides. There is an additional seam at one of the narrow ends.
