The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

Six parallel bands are set closely together, each containing an interlace braid. The bands are separated by a single line of yellow embroidery. The fragment is similar to EA1984.268a.

Each band is 1 cm wide. The embroidery covers three layers of fabric, the top one blue silk, the middle one undyed linen that is loosely woven, the lower one coarsely woven linen. The fragment is sewn together from two pieces, each one with three bands. The seam follows the direction of the bands.
