The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A band of heart-shaped leaves filled with a palmette, as in EA1984.263a. The embroidery follows the outline.

The width of the band is 4.5 cm. It is made up from a double layer of fabric, with the embroidery stitched through both layers. The band may have been from the bottom of trouser legs, or possibly a collar.
