The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A central band of ornate connecting diamonds and arrow heads; on either side is a further band with linked diamonds. A border of very fine S-shapes divides the bands.

The bands are embroidered in blue, and additional red and yellow stitching fasten the edges of the band. The latter are done in blanket stitch. The band was probably made to be sewn onto a garment.
