The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A corner band is filled with cartouches and small hook motifs. The band has fine zigzag borders; an additional band connects at right angles to one band.

The design is not complete, which suggests that it was embroidered as a sampler. There is a selvedge, and a whipped hem along one side at right angles to it. The embroidery defines the design.
