The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

The large, square fragment has narrow bands with three different designs. Along one side is a dark blue band filled with S-shapes; at right angles to it and parallel to a hem are three medium blue bands with paired X-shapes, each pair separated by a dot. One of these bands is only 8 cm long and continuous with a single line of running stitch. Finally there are three bands in one corner, of diamonds and half-diamonds separated by a vertical line and alternating between dark blue and red.

A rolled hem is whipped with silk thread.
