Yellow River at Longyang Gorge

    This drawing depicts the Yellow River at Longyang Gorge, the point where it first enters the Yellow River Valley. The cliffs here rise more than 200 metres and the river is particularly fast-flowing. Xu Bing made several journeys to the far northwestern province of Qinghai, and drew this on the same visit on which he made the etchings Mountain Rhythm [LI2007.52] and Mountain Plateau [LI2007.53].
