  • Description

This drawing is the earliest work in the exhibition, produced when Xu Bing was 14 or 15 years old. It depicts a stove in the Xu family home. Adjacent to it is a piece of European, probably French, marble-topped furniture. The drawing is in a Western academic style, reflecting the art teaching Xu Bing had received at school.
