Fragmentary hand and forearm from the Buddha

  • Description

    This fragment belonged to a Buddha image of monumental size. The hand of the Buddha is raised towards the viewer in the fear-dispelling or blessing gesture. On the palm is the Wheel of Dharma, representing the Buddha’s teaching.
