Zhou Hongcai is trained in woodblock printing and is known as a woodcut teacher. The poster depicts a group of educated young people who volunteered to go to the countryside to work as peasants, so the inscription reads ‘their ambition is in the countryside’. Behind the figures are the farm fields that they are going to work on, with their tools depicted in front of them.
