Discover exquisite embroideries, dyed silk and velvet panels, tapestries, and appliqué works
In this pair of very finely embroidered hangings peacocks, sparrows, and various spring and autumn plants are depicted in realistic detail. The fabric for the hangings appears to have been woven specifically for this purpose, with the chrysanthemum-patterned brocade border and the plain central panel made as one piece.
