Indian Block-Printed Textiles in Egypt: The Newberry Collection in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford
Separate leaves irregularly arranged, as in Cat. no. 41 [EA1990.49]. The resist defines the pattern, the background is blue.
Cut and sewn into a tab shape, with additional white fabric fragments (flax), possibly sewn on as backing, French seam. The linen fragment has a thread-count of 14 x 14. Selvedge.
