  • Description

This view of the grounds of Peking University was drawn on one of Xu Bing’s visits home from the countryside village where he spent three years (1974-1977) as an urban youth during the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976). During visits home he saw art exhibitions and on several occasions visited Li Zongjin, an artist and family friend who taught him oil painting.
