The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)
Aori; in low relief and iroye incrustation is an old fisherman standing on the high bank of a stream, with his cormorant perched on the long ladle which he carries erect at his shoulder; above is the full moon behind clouds; at the back is more of the stream with a small weir. Signed: Setsuzan [Japanese text] with kakihan [Figure]. (A name of the founder; but the guard probably a copy.)
