Chinese Paintings in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford

Li Wenxin was born in Shuangliu, Sichuan, and apart from a spell studying art in Hangzhou, has spent his career in Sichuan province. He originally specialised in figure painting, particuarly the national minority peoples of the southwest, but in 1977 turned to landscape. During the 1980s his work was presented in individual exhibitions in Beijing, Guangzhou and other parts of the country.
