    The Barlow Collection

The hexagonal box has straight sides, a flat top with a sloping edge, and a shallow hexagonal foot. The piece is mould-made and decorated with a camellia spray in relief on the top which has somewhat sagged. A stroke has been incised down the sides of both halves to show proper alignment. The blue-green-tinged glaze is degraded through burial, the lower part of the box, the rims, and much of the insides were left unglazed. The rough body has fired a yellowish-beige colour.
