    This detail shows the same counterchange pattern as those on Nos.35 [EA1984.502] and 36 [EA1993.152]. However here the positive image is coloured alternately with red and blue silk. Along the edges of the band there are small crenellated borders worked in close counted herringbone and cross stitches.

    The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

    Four bands, of which two are embroidered with a row of red and blue separate tendrils and leaves, while the other two are filled with a line of blue and yellow lozenges, three of one colour placed diagonally, and linked to the next group of three in the other colour.

    One of the red and blue bands is placed parallel to the selvedge, the other three are right angles to it.
