    The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

    A 4 cm wide band is diagonally divided into lozenges, filled alternately with red arabesque and blue inscription. The inscription has become very fragmentary.

    The band is very similar to EA1984.70 and was probably part of the same original fabric. Laid threads are couched down over surface satin filling stitches. Outlines are worked in stem stitch.
