    The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

    A 4 cm wide band is divided into lozenges, alternately containing red interlacing vines and blue inscriptions.

    The band may have been from the same fabric as EA1984.64.The inscription and band design are embroidered in couching stitch; laid threads are couched down over surface satin filling stitches. Outlines are worked in stem stitch.
