    The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

    Two bands of a red floral scrolling pattern; one is more narrow than the other and has a border of green and natural magic chain stitch.

    There are four layers of fabric, the two inner ones are of coarser cotton than the outer ones. The embroidery bands are on the outer fabric, and probably were once a sleeve cuff. There is a small piece of blue and white check cloth attached.
