    Catalogue of Islamic Seals and Talismans

    Cornelian; bezel, bevelled towards the front; oval. Four lines separated by straight lines formed by elongation of a ligature or return of a final loop. Cursive script; engraved.

    (1) 'In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. Say: "I take refuge بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم قل اعوذ
    (2) with the Lord of men, the King of men, the God of men برب الناس ملك الناس اله الناس
    (3) from the evil of the slinking whisperer who whispers in من شر الوسواس الخناس الذ[ى] يوسوس في
    (4) the breasts of men of jinn and men." ' (Qur. CXIV) صدور الناس من الجنة والناس

    There are groups of dots spread over the ground. Two lines follow the shape of the gem.
